About the Railway

The Diamond Valley Railway (DVR) is a miniature railway (184mm gauge) operating in Eltham Lower park.

About the Route

There is approximately 2km of purpose built track, complete with signalling, bridges and tunnels. the line runs in several loops, and most trains use only one station.

About the Trains

The railway runs a wide variety of miniature locomotives, powered by steam, petrol, diesel and batteries. Most locomotives are privately owned.

Carriages are open, with passengers straddling a central padded seat.

When do the Trains Run and How Often?

Trains run most Sundays and public holidays, also Wednesdays during school holidays. Trains run regularly from 11:00 to 17:00 on Sundays, or 13:00 to 16:00 other days.

Can I Get There by Public Transport?

Yes!

Bus 513 (towards Glenroy via Lower Plenty ) and bus 901 (towards Frankston) run regularly from Eltham station on Metro Trains' Hurstbridge line .
